The Journey Begins: Our Family’s Story 🍲
At J’s Korean Food, everything started with a deep love for Korean food and the desire to bring those authentic flavors to Sarasota. Growing up, our family made sure that meals weren’t just food—they were an experience. Our Eomma (mom) would spend hours in the kitchen, perfecting recipes passed down through generations. After moving to America, she realized how hard it was to find the same quality of Korean food she grew up with, and that’s when the idea of opening J’s Korean Food began.
A Taste of Home: Eomma’s Kimchi ❤️
One of the first things Eomma and Appa (dad) started making from scratch was kimchi. Eomma missed the taste of home and couldn’t find the right flavors, so she decided to make her own. Using a family recipe, they created kimchi that was bursting with the right spices and fresh vegetables. It became a hit with friends and family, and soon, they were known for the best kimchi around.

This ensures that every bite is packed with flavor. We also make sure everything is cooked in a traditional wok, which helps bring out the deep, rich flavors of each dish. And of course, we only use fresh, locally sourced vegetables and spices imported directly from Korea.
